Classrooms are overcrowded. This one in particular has 46 students but has only 43 chairs because of lack of funding. Kids drop out of school -either there is no money to buy school materials or they have to work.
This school I visited is in a sad state of affair. At times there is no electricity because of lack of funds. No library, either. This school, Pedro E. Ramos, Sr. Elementary School, was named after my late father who could not stress enough the importance of education.
